Hussain Manawer is an award-winning poet, musician and all-round thought leader based in London, he also has a growing fan base in New York after Cher famously selected him to take part in a Vanity Fair shoot last year in America as “one to watch”, whilst he was visiting for the Grammys - as he presented an award.
Hussain is best known for pioneering the largest ever mental health awareness concert, hosted by Maya Jama – an initiative that he received a Guinness World Record for. He has garnered support in the most random of areas - from Dele Ali to Lady Gaga.
He has recently performed at Music 4 Mental Health, a ground-breaking mental health initiative at which he featured alongside huge names such as Professor Green, Olly Murs and Ed Sheeran. Hussain also appeared as the support act for Riz Ahmed’s show in London in November 2018.
On Mental Health Awareness Day 2018, Hussain received a Points of Light award from the UK government for his work in the community.
Hussain is known for his performance pieces in support of those affected by suicide in which he films himself blindfolded giving hugs to strangers. He has recreated this campaign on the streets of LA, Manchester and more.
